Annual Conference Health and Safety Guidelines
We are sure you share our excitement to once again be meeting in person for our annual conference in Seattle this fall! We are currently moving forward with our plans to hold our annual conference, The Future of Pathology, in person, October 31 – November 4. We want to assure you that your health and safety is our greatest concern. We are very grateful that our conference is later than usual this year, because projections are that we will be in a better place by then. We continue to monitor the guidelines and recommendations put forth by the CDC and the Washington State Department of Health. Effective October 25, 2021, proof of full vaccination or negative PCR COVID-19 test within the last 72 hours will be required for all indoor activities and large gatherings. Our event will be following this guideline, as well as those laid out by the CDC for large gatherings, including encouraging handwashing, self-monitoring each day for symptoms, and maintaining social distancing. The AAPA also encourages attendees to be fully vaccinated prior to the conference. We will continue to communicate any updates over the next couple of months as necessary.
As you are making your travel plans, it is recommended to check with your airline carrier regarding travel insurance or cancellation or change policies. For your information, the Westin Seattle requires that all cancellations must be received 72 hours prior to your scheduled check-in date, or you may be subject to a fee equal to one night’s room and tax.
