Dear AAPA Members,
Are you ready to step up and make a difference for the AAPA? Are you involved in Laboratory Management at your institution? Are you eager to shape the future of our organization? If so, this is your opportunity to lead!
The primary objective of the Administration Committee is to ensure that correct parliamentary procedures govern all Association activities, including laws associated with incorporation, legal matters, nominating and voting for Trustees, and formatting of the Bylaws including adoptions, amendments, or repeals as recommended by the Board of Trustees.
Aside from supporting your professional community and offering your leadership skills, serving on committees can earn you up to 2 ASCP BOC CMP points per year.
The Administration Committee has the following leadership openings:
Administration Committee Chair
Administration Committee Vice-Chair
- Duties and responsibilities of the Chair and Vice Chair:
- Attends all subcommittee meetings (nominations, governing documents, legislative)
- Collaborates with subcommittee chairs on position statements (legislative)
- Delegates or creates outlines for policy review (governing documents)
- Presents at year-end State of the Association meeting
- Time commitment: Approximately 4 hours per month
Nominations Subcommittee Chair
- Duties and Responsibilities of the Nominations Subcommittee Chair:
- Reads submissions from BOT nominees
- Conducts phone interviews with selected candidates and provides conversation summary
- Provides recommendation of candidate fitness to serve
- Obtains consensus on final nominee submission
- Time commitment: 2-3 hours in the Spring and Summer seasons
Governing Documents Subcommittee Chair
- Duties and Responsibilities of the Governing Documents Subcommittee Chair:
- Outlines policy review schedule and delegates editing to committee members
- Examines all organization policies requiring editing and periodic review
- Edits assigned policy for clarity and grammar
- Identifies the need for new policy to address changing organization
- Time commitment: 2-3 hours per month
