2021 Issue 4 of The Cutting Edge
Is Now Available!

Dear AAPA Members,

We are pleased to bring you this year’s final issue of THE CUTTING EDGE. The three featured peer reviewed manuscripts are all malignancy cases, two of which are available for Advanced AP credits. The cover manuscript, authored by student non-delegate travel grant winner Ann Marie Scazzero, is about a head and neck tumor in the unusual location of the hypopharynx. The second CE manuscript is by fellow travel grant winner Kaitlin Fish, PA(ASCP)^CM, and details an autopsy finding of hepatocellular cancer invading the vena cava and heart. Our final manuscript is a case of pediatric renal clear cell sarcoma by staff writer Michael Kemen, PA(ASCP)^CM.

This issue also highlights several award winners and honorees. The Pathologist Power List included seven PAs this year – congratulations to the honored members for this amazing achievement! The AAPA Board of Trustees annual award winners are also featured on page 20 (you might see a familiar face here – I am truly honored to have been recognized, along with Ian Sue-Chue-Lam, PA(ASCP)^CM, CCCPA, and Anne Walsh-Feeks, PA(ASCP)^CM, FACHE).

Also featured in this issue are findings from the Membership & Salary Survey, an overview of the new AAPA Career Center, conference news, a timely book review, the return of our member spotlight, and much more!
