The AAPA Conference Committee Needs You!
Dear AAPA Fellow and Associate Members,
Now that the COVID pandemic has become less of a public health issue, PAs are coming back to in-person and hybrid professional meetings and conferences. AAPA conferences offer PA-focused continuing education opportunities and provide a forum for important networking and collaboration among members. In-person and hybrid meetings significantly enrich and reinforce an environment of curiosity and discovery – hallmarks of education and our profession.
But who organizes these AAPA conferences? PAs just like you! The AAPA is offering a unique opportunity to apply for the Annual (Fall) Conference Vice Chair position. If you have a passion for organizing events, travel, and determining sites for future conferences, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!
Duties and Responsibilities of the Annual (Fall) Conference Vice Chair include:
- Attend monthly Meetings Subcommittee meetings.
- Plan the conference budget and schedule with the AAPA Central Office.
- Collaborate with the Central Office on-site to triage issues.
- Assist the Annual Conference Chair and Annual Conference Subcommittees.
- Train to become the Annual Conference Chair.
Desired Expertise:
- Experience in AAPA Annual Conference Subcommittees or other association committees/groups.
Time Commitment:
- 3-4 hours per month, non-busy season.
- 2-3 hours per week, busy season (July through two weeks post-conference).
- 8+ hours a day during Annual Conference and site visits.
Travel Commitment:
- Must be able to attend Annual Conference each year.
- Attend yearly site visits 3 years in advance of the meeting.
