Former AAPA BOT CFO Appointed to Fill Vacancy

Dear AAPA Members,
Recently, a vacancy was created on the AAPA Board of Trustees (BOT) when Heather Gaburo, MHS, PA(ASCP)CM, accepted the offer to serve as the AAPA’s second contracted project manager for the Grossing Guidelines. More information will follow on this exciting development in the 2024 Issue 3 of The Cutting Edge and in person at the AAPA 49th Annual Conference: Hot Topics in Pathology in Fort Lauderdale (Sept. 15-19, 2024).
Following Heather’s resignation, and in accordance with the AAPA Bylaws, the BOT appointed former CFO Jesse McCoy, MHS, PA(ASCP)CM, to fill the vacancy and serve out the remainder of the term through the end of this year. We are pleased to welcome Jesse back to the CFO role, in which she previously served from 2022-2023, and we also wish to thank Heather for her years of service on the BOT.
As a friendly reminder, the 2025 AAPA Board of Trustees election will be open September 1-30, 2024. All Fellow members will be invited to cast their vote via electronic ballot.
