Scholarships & Travel Grants
Compete for your chance to win a travel grant to attend the AAPA Annual Conference, Spring Meeting, or Summer Meeting within the next two years. A total of four travel grants will be awarded to Fellow members in 2020 and one travel grant will be awarded to a 2nd year Student Non-Delegate member. Additionally, there will be a Student General Education Scholarship available to all 2nd year students.
Every scholarship and travel grant submission is peer-reviewed, therefore, if awarded, it comes with a published peer-review manuscript that can be added to a resume.

Call for manuscripts reporting on cases or techniques that would enhance the knowledge of the pathologists’ assistant at the anatomic pathology bench or at autopsy. We will be awarding a travel grant to the top manuscript in each of two categories (Malignant Cases and Non-Malignant Cases)*.
Next offering: Apr. 1, 2020 – Jul. 1, 2020
Eligibility
- Author must be a Fellow member of the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants
- Manuscripts submitted for a travel grant at any other state and/or national pathology conference or which have been accepted for prior publication are not eligible
- The manuscript must be the original work of the author
- The author may only submit one manuscript per annual travel grant
Fellow Travel Grant Details
The two winning entries (one in each category) will receive a travel grant valued at up to $1800 (registration to an upcoming Annual Conference, Spring Meeting, or Summer Meeting within the next two years + $1000 to assist with travel expenses). A total of four travel grants are awarded per calendar year.
*Categories will change before the next Travel Grant offering opens on April 1, 2020.

Travel Grant Details
The winning entry will receive a travel grant valued at up to $1600 (registration + $1000 to help cover travel expenses) to attend the Annual Conference, Spring Meeting, or Summer Meeting of their choosing (within the next two years).

All training programs are invited to send two representatives each to attend our Annual Conference.
Training programs are contacted by the AAPA in the winter.
Eligibility
- The two students must be in their second year at the time of the Annual Conference.
Program Details
Student delegates are required to participate in a number of activities leading up to and including their time at the conference. In return, the AAPA provides complimentary conference registration and accommodations, with up to two students per room, for the length of the program. Student delegates will be responsible for their airfare, meals outside of those provided with their conference registration, and any incidentals.
Each student delegate is required to arrive on Sunday afternoon and depart on Thursday. The total length of stay is five (5) days and four (4) nights at the conference.
