Join us on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:00 pm CST for the first session of a three-part Forensics webinar series to be presented throughout the year. Free and open to all AAPA members. Only Fellow members who have taken and passed the ASCP BOC exam are eligible to earn CE credit.

Speaker Bio: Juniper Fedor, MS, PA(ASCP), D-ABMDI, is a pathologists’ assistant in forensics at the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur, Georgia. An alumnus of the Wayne State University program and a founding member of the AAPA DEI Subcommittee, Juniper has dedicated his early career to diversity awareness in pathology, as well as the promotion of the utilization of pathologists’ assistants in the forensic setting. In 2023, Juniper was an ASCP 40 Under Forty Honoree and the recipient of the AAPA Rising Star Award.
Session Description: Pathologists’ assistants in forensics are becoming more prevalent. New positions in medical examiner or coroner offices are being approved with increasing frequency. At the same time, hospital-based PAs are seeing an increase in overflow medical examiner forensic autopsies contracted to the hospital autopsy service. This session will be the first of a series of forensic-based webinars focusing on forensic knowledge that can benefit all practicing PAs. In this session, Juniper Fedor, MS, PA(ASCP), D-ABMDI, will present forensic pathology and medicolegal death investigation basics and terminology, including legal considerations, the differences between forensic and clinical autopsy, different facets of the medical examiner and coroner office, as well as other essential forensic-based knowledge.
Important Continuing Education (CE) Credit Information:
Attending the live presentation of this webinar will count towards one (1) General AP continuing education credit. To earn credit, you MUST join within the first ten minutes of the session and remain connected throughout the entire presentation. NO QUIZ will be required to earn credit for those who attend the live session. There will, however, also be an option to watch the recorded webinar and take a quiz for one (1) General AP CE credit, if you are unable to join live.
If you attend the live session, it may take up to two weeks for the unit to appear in your personal Online CE Journal. If you have provided your 8-digit ASCP Customer ID and your first and last names are an exact match to your ASCP profile, the AAPA PACE credits you earn will seamlessly transfer over to your ASCP transcript on a weekly basis.
