AAPA Seeks Nominations for Open BOT Seat | Deadline to Apply is Dec. 18

BOT Nominations

Dear AAPA Fellow Members,

The AAPA is looking for a qualified member to fill a Board of Trustees (BOT) seat that has been vacated. Fellow members in good standing may petition the BOT to fill the vacancy. The three-year term previously held by Brittin Cavanagh runs through the end of 2024. If appointed by the BOT, the candidate would have the opportunity to continue their service by submitting a nomination for the next full-term Board election (2025-2027). Nominations are due by December 18, 2023.

Characteristics, Attributes, and Requirements of an Ideal Board Member

Leadership requires knowledge, talent, skill, and the ability to make a difference. The nominee must be a Fellow member in good standing for a minimum of three (3) years prior to being nominated and have at least two (2) years of committee experience. Other attributes to consider are education, background, and areas of expertise. First-time board members will be assigned a mentor.

Commitment

Serving on the Board of Trustees requires a commitment of service through the end of the term, and a demonstrated commitment to the AAPA, its mission, and goals. The BOT meets in person twice a year and monthly by teleconference.

Timeline

  • Nominations accepted through December 18, 2023
  • Results of the appointment announced by January 5, 2024
  • The appointed individual will participate in a board orientation, sign a Code of Conduct/Commitment to Serve, and join the BOT immediately

How to Apply

Please consider nominating yourself or another member by the December 18 deadline!

Sincerely,

Chevanne Scordinsky, PA(ASCP)CM
Administration Committee Chair
