The AAPA held a Town Hall to review the 2024 Membership & Salary Survey results on Tuesday, June 25th. Members were invited to join via GoToWebinar and download the survey results from the member community section of the AAPA website. Presenters included Rena Somersan and Paige Brasili – representatives from our third party survey administrator Newport Group – along with AAPA Board of Trustees (BOT) Member and Membership Committee Oversight Shanice Bedassie. Membership Committee Chair Michael Desimone moderated the session.
The survey was discussed at length. Rena presented on Newport Group’s findings and compared the 2021 data where relevant. Presenters provided additional insight on the findings and discussed a deeper overall perspective including nationwide trends of laboratory consolidation, increasing annual raises, and use of biopsy technicians.
The group gave an update on the changes made to this year’s survey as we strive to make it more relevant and inclusive to our membership as a whole.
Before the conclusion of the webinar we answered a variety of questions from the audience ranging from on-call and autopsy responsibilities to most common health benefits.
