Dear AAPA Members,
Thank you to everyone who has submitted an individual response to the CMS Proposal that would allow nursing degree holders to perform high complexity testing. For those who haven’t yet done so, please review details of the issue here [votervoice.net], and submit your response by the deadline of this Thursday, August 25, at 5 pm EDT. This is your LAST CHANCE to act!
Action items:
- Educate yourself on this issue. Review the summary of the proposed CMS rule change as listed above or view the full CMS proposed rule change here [federalregister.gov].
- Submit a comment today. All PAs should take advantage of this opportunity! Public comment on this matter is open until this Thursday, August 25, at 5 pm EDT.
- Encourage your fellow laboratorians to support us in this endeavor by submitting their comments, as we are not the only ones conducting high complexity testing.
Remember, every individual response will help strengthen our collective voice on this important issue.
Regards,

Liz Rizzo, PA(ASCP)CM Legislative Subcommittee Chair
