– Are a pathologists’ assistant equivalent with physical residence outside the U.S. who has been actively practicing as a PA and holds the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree

Member Application Approval Process
The Membership Committee will review all applications and recommend either acceptance or rejection of all applications to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees will be solely responsible for the acceptance or rejection of all Association members.

Please note that AAPA membership is based on the calendar year (January 1 to December 31) and is not prorated.
Renewal for the next year opens the preceding November on the 15th.
Renewal discount ($20) applied if renewed by January 31.

Student members are automatically upgraded to Associate members at the end of the year in which they graduate. After official notification from the ASCP BOC that they have passed the exam, they are automatically upgraded to Fellow members.

Fellow members who have retired may request to move to this category (per an email to the Membership Committee).
Medical/Military Leave ($0/YR)
Members may be moved to this category for a specified period of time. Members who become permanently disabled, either physically or mentally, may apply for this membership category on a permanent basis, provided the member supplies sufficient documentation of the permanent disability.
Inactive
Members who have voluntarily submitted a request to be moved to the inactive roster.
