Title: Lead – Open

Mission

Create a space for PAs to exchange knowledge, network & create content based on a specific topic.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for new groups, to include identifying a lead and interested members
  • Onboard, guide, and support new leads to include the first meeting as well as goal and vision ideation
  • Check in with SIG leads biannually
  • Provide continuous support to include meeting logistics and collaboration opportunities
  • Promote SIGs
Desired Expertise
  • None needed
Time Commitment
  • <1 hr./month
  • 1 virtual meeting/month as necessary
  • No definite busy time, dependent on SIG creation and projects
Travel Commitment
  • No travel necessary

Entry Level Roles

Subcommittee Name: Member Recruitment – Openings

Mission

Recruit new members through effectively communicating the value of AAPA membership.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the recruitment of new student members to the organization
    • This includes overseeing the student liaison program, and ensuring all materials are up to date
  • Collaborate and create interactive projects to recruit new members to the AAPA
Desired Expertise
  • Member engagement
Time Commitment
  • 2-3 hours /month
  • 1 virtual meeting/month as necessary
Travel Commitment
  • No travel necessary

Subcommittee Name: Member Retention – Openings

Mission

Focus on retaining members by understanding membership needs, creating a welcoming environment, and providing valuable resources that ensure members feel valued and committed to the AAPA. Keep a pulse on the membership and reasons for members who decide to leave.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Annual renewal drive – Lead drive through material creation, database assignments, member engagement & drive analysis
  • Create engaging campaigns to improve member retention including identifying areas to add member value.

Time Commitment
  • Busy season: 1-2 weeks in Feb-March

Subcommittee Name: Student Delegate Program – Openings

Mission

Create an engaging and fulfilling experience for elected Student Delegates at the annual Fall Conference.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and edit all conference materials to include PowerPoints and workbooks
  • Create, disperse, and analyze feedback surveys
  • Recruit and support speakers for all lectures
  • Host/support networking sessions
  • On-site support for all delegate active cities
  • Coordinate, recruit, and provide day of logistical support for Mock Interviews
  • Brainstorm and refresh delegate agenda in order to create an educational, relevant, and professional experience

Time Commitment
  • 1-3 days at annual Fall conference

Subcommittee Name: DE&I – Openings

Mission

Focus on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the AAPA by creating a welcoming and supportive community where all members feel valued, respected, and represented. The committee will help identify opportunities to increase awareness, education, and engagement around DEI and provide resources and programming that support an inclusive professional community. The committee leader will help foster a culture of belonging within the AAPA and keep a pulse on member experiences, needs, and opportunities to strengthen inclusion across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and organize meetings: host a group within the AAPA designed to meet regularly and provide education, resources, and a supportive community that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging among all members
  • Identify and execute projects and initiatives that promote DEI and strengthen a sense of belonging among AAPA members
  • Develop and share resources and educational opportunities related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Keep a pulse on membership experiences and identify opportunities to improve engagement, representation, and inclusion within the AAPA
  • Collaborate with other AAPA committees to incorporate DEI considerations into programs, events, and initiatives

  • Demonstrated interested in and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead meetings, engage volunteers, and move projects from ideas to execution.
  • Ability to foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment where members feel comfortable contributing and sharing perspectives.
Time Commitment
  • 1 committee meeting per month
  • 1 subcommittee meeting per quarter

Subcommittee Name: Wellness – Openings

Mission

Focus on advocating for member wellness through providing a group that offers tools and support around mindfulness, ergonomics, and wellbeing for longevity within our profession. The function of the leader will be to provide a supportive community group that can encourage members feel the AAPA. Keep a pulse on the membership and host events members are interested in learning about.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and organize meetings: create group within the AAPA designed to meet regularly and offer tools and a supportive community around wellness
  • Ideas and execute projects including ensuring that the group makes at least 1 CE for general membership biannually
  • Collaboration and representation within other committees as required
Desired Expertise
  • Safety/wellness interest or experience
  • Member engagement and compassionate, caring attitude and open mindset
Time Commitment
  • 2 virtual meeting/month as necessary
