2026 Student Delegate Poster CE Question Submission Form

Instructions for Submitting Poster CE Quiz Questions

Student Delegate Requirements

All training programs have been invited to send two representatives each to attend our Annual Conference.  Student delegates are required to participate in a number of activities leading up to and during their time at the conference.  In return, the AAPA will provide complimentary conference registration and dorm style accommodations, with two students per room, for the length of the program.  Student delegates are responsible for their own airfare, meals outside of those provided with conference registration, and any incidentals.  Each student delegate is required to arrive on Sunday afternoon and depart on Thursday.  The total length of stay will be five (5) days and four (4) nights at the conference.  Each student delegate must meet the following requirements to participate in the program.

The Student Delegate Program includes updated poster and manuscript requirement designed to be equitable and achievable for all participants, reflecting thoughtful changes to better align with most students’ training timelines.  The poster will be the primary deliverable presented at the conference, while the manuscript will be completed over a longer timeframe to allow students the full experience of identifying a case and developing a case study. Please review the updated deadlines carefully, as this represents a departure from how the program has been structured in the past.

CE Quiz Questions – Instruction and Tips:

The continuing education (CE) quiz questions you are writing are meant to test the audience’s knowledge and understanding of your poster presentation after they have reviewed it.  The goal is to ask meaningful questions – not stump the quiz taker!

You are required to submit two quiz questions.  They should be multiple choice with four possible answers labeled a, b, c, and d.  Only one of the multiple choice options should be identifiable as correct.

A few tips and tricks for your two CE questions:

  • When writing your questions, keep a close eye out for lists (i.e. characteristics, symptoms, differential diagnoses, etc.) in your poster that can be used as multiple choice questions.
  • Avoid percentages and non-pertinent numbers.  Though this information lends itself to questions well, it is typically not information that is retained by takers post-presentation and post-quiz.  Remember, the objective is not to confuse the taker.
  • Avoid questions or answers that are based on opinion.
  • Always double-check acronyms and spell them out at first use.
  • Be aware of grammar articles; the taker will immediately know that the answer starts with or without a vowel (use ‘…is an example of a/an:’).
  • Incorrect answers should be plausible and functional.  Avoid silly or humorous distractors.
  • Minimize the use of ‘none of the above’ and ‘all of the above.’  This type of question should be a last resort or avoided all together.
  • Correct answers should be no longer or shorter than the incorrect answers.
