We’re Mixin’ It Up in NOLA!
We are excited to change things up this year, with the AAPA Summer Meeting being hosted and sponsored by the Pathologists’ Assistant Program at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Learn a little bit more about the program – and the surrounding city – from these alumni and former program reps:

“At Tulane, our small class size creates a tight knit community that fosters teamwork and ambition. Located in the warm city of New Orleans, LA, Tulane’s Pathologists’ Assistant program is the first in the southeast. There is never a shortage of things to do, with activities ranging from zydeco nights, parades, jazz brunches, eating king cake, and everything in between. Tulane offers a flexible curriculum that enables us to take electives or complete a teaching practicum. Our first year is mainly spent in the classroom learning histology, anatomy, physiology, surgical pathology techniques, and mechanisms of disease. However, something unique to our program is that we are able to do weekly rotations in the gross room at the hospital as well as be a part of autopsies. This helps ease our way into second year clinicals. Our clinical rotation sites range from coast to coast (San Diego to Boston) and are selected for us through an extensive and personalized process. Laissez les bons temps rouler!“
