2022 Issue 3 of The Cutting Edge Is Now Available!

Dear AAPA Members,
We are pleased to bring you the next issue of THE CUTTING EDGE. There are four peer-reviewed manuscripts in this issue, two of which are available for General AP CE credits. The cover manuscript features a case of a 12-year-old with Burkitt lymphoma written by Genevieve Catellier, PA(ASCP), while the second CE manuscript, written by General Education Scholarship winner, Kristen Crewe, explores the future of artificial intelligence in pathology. Check out the issue for additional manuscripts on myxoglobulosis of the appendix, written by Lance Clark, PA(ASCP) CM, and an informative discussion of the use of EDTA as a decalcifying agent.
In addition to the educational articles, this issue offers a summary of the recent Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion webinar, and a personal look at three PAs nominated to the 2022 ASCP 40 Under Forty list. The AAPA Legislative Subcommittee also offers an update on the latest happenings around the country.
The Annual Conference in Minneapolis was a 50th-anniversary celebration of the AAPA! I’m proud to be a member and look forward to what the future holds. Due to the timing of the publication of this journal, some references made throughout were before the conference. Look for a wrap-up and photographs from the event in the next issue of The Cutting Edge.
You can access the online, interactive version of this issue now by clicking on the journal cover image found here or by visiting the “The Cutting Edge journal” page found under the Member Community area of www.pathassist.org.
If you have opted to receive the journal via postal mail, a copy of your journal is on its way to your mailbox. You can change your preferred delivery method by accessing your member profile.
Sincerely,

Beth Felicelli, PA(ASCP)CM
Editor-in-Chief of The Cutting Edge
