2022 Issue 1 of The Cutting Edge
Is Now Available!
Dear AAPA Members,
We are pleased to bring you this year’s first issue of THE CUTTING EDGE. There are three peer-reviewed manuscripts in this issue, two of which are available for Advanced AP CE credits. The cover manuscript, “Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Penis: A Case Study”, authored by Alexandria Paolo, was selected as last year’s top student delegate manuscript. The second CE manuscript is by fellow travel grant winner Lynette Dejarlais, PA(ASCP)CM, and describes an interesting retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma. Our final manuscript, written by fellow Alysha Rushton, PA(ASCP)CM, describes two case studies of fetal autopsies.
This issue also features a wrap-up of the 46th Annual Conference: The Future of Pathology, our first in-person conference in two years! Turn to page 18 for some fun photos from throughout the event, held last fall in Seattle.
Aside from our usual features, this issue also includes recaps from several recent Town Hall meetings. You’ll also find a preview of PA Day – coming up quickly on April 14th – on page 14, along with a recap from a recent episode of the People of Pathology podcast, which featured preceptor program lead Dr. Kristine McCluskey as its special guest.
Finally, please help us pay tribute to our PA colleague and friend, Jason Wozniak, who passed away at the end of last year. Turn to page 23 for a memorial shared by Jason’s close friend, fellow member Danielle Seevers, PA(ASCP)CM.
