2020 Issue 4 of The Cutting Edge Is Now Available!

Dear AAPA Members,
As we begin to wrap up 2020 and look forward to the start of a new year, we are pleased to bring you this year’s final issue of THE CUTTING EDGE. This issue features two CE articles, as well as two additional peer-reviewed articles, Annual Conference and Spring Meeting updates, PAs recognized by The Pathologist and ASCP, along with our usual sections including the book review and gross photo tutorial.
Did you notice the journal’s fresh new look? Our updated branding and color scheme ties in with the overall evolution of the AAPA brand, including a logo redesign and the launch of the “It Pays to Know” campaign. Learn more about these exciting changes on page 22 from AAPA MarComm Chair Cory Nash.
Our cover CE article, a case report on a large retroperitoneal leiomyoma, is by fellow travel grant winner Karah Jones. Our second CE article, “The Gross Evaluation of a Total Penectomy” is from fellow member Jessica Tiemeyer, who submitted the manuscript as a 2018 student delegate. This issue also features a case report on placental mesenchymal dysplasia by fellow member Michael Kemen, and an article describing a patient-centered approach to breast cancer prognostics by fellow member Amy Deibler.
You can access the online, interactive version of this issue now by clicking on the journal cover image found here or by visiting the “The Cutting Edge journal” page found under the Member Community area of www.pathassist.org.
If you have opted to receive the journal via postal mail, a copy of your journal is on its way to your mailbox. You can change your preferred delivery method by accessing your member profile.
We wish you all a happy and safe holiday season – we’ll see you in 2021!
Sincerely,
Beth Felicelli, PA(ASCP) CM
Editor-in-Chief of The Cutting Edge
