Timeline – Three (3) Elected Seats 2015-2017

  • Nominations accepted through June 16
  • Election will be held in August
  • Winners announced at the New York conference
  • Elected individuals will participate in a board orientation at the New York conference
  • Elected individuals officially join the board in January 2015

Nomination Deadline:
June 16 for the Term 2015 – 2017

Nominations will be accepted through today, June 16, for the three (3) elected seats for the term 2015-2017.

Long Term:

The AAPA is looking for qualified Fellow members to fill the three (3) seats opening for the term 2015-2017. Seats are currently held by Bill Ahlfeld, Jonathan Bakst, and Karen Riviello.

Characteristics, Attributes, and Requirements of an ideal Board Member

Leadership requires knowledge, talent, skill, and the ability to make a difference. The nominee must be a Fellow member in good standing for a minimum of three (3) years prior to being nominated. Preference will be given to members with AAPA volunteer experience.  Other attributes to consider are education, background, and areas of expertise. First time board members will be assigned a mentor.

Commitment

Serving on the Board of Trustees requires a three (3) year commitment of service, and a demonstrated commitment to the AAPA, its mission and goals. One must be prepared for discussion in advance of any meeting, and be actively engaged during all meetings. The board meets in person twice a year, once during the annual working weekend for the board and once at the annual fall conference.  The board also meets monthly by teleconference.  While attendance is expected at all meetings of the board, the board member must attend at a minimum two (2) of the three (3) annual fall conferences, two (2) of the three (3) board working weekends, and a high percentage of the teleconferences during their three (3) year board term. Continued Fellow membership and involvement in the AAPA is a must.
