AAPA Town Hall Meeting – September 24

Thank you to members who participated in our first three AAPA Town Hall meetings.  We hope you have found this meeting format helpful, giving members direct access to the Board of Trustees (BOT) with a voice in the conversation.  Your feedback will help guide us in our future plans.

All members are invited and encouraged to attend our next Town Hall meeting, which will take place during the Fall Conference in New Orleans on Monday, September 24, at 3:45pm CDT.  Conference attendees will be able to join in person, while the rest of the membership will again be invited to join remotely via GoToWebinar.  An invitation will follow closer to the meeting date with GoToWebinar registration information.

Our September meeting topic will be Advocacy for the PA: What we can do for you.

As the premier professional association for pathologists’ assistants, the mission and core values of the AAPA include advocating for the individual PA and the PA profession as a whole.  While the AAPA has achieved a number of milestones over time that have been very positive, there is still much to be done to promote our profession, educate other medical professionals about pathologists’ assistants, and gain recognition for the critical role we play in quality patient care.  Our next Town Hall will review some of these milestones in advocacy and then will lead to a discussion on what we as an organization and as individual PAs can do to advocate for ourselves and our profession.  As this Town Hall will be live at the Fall Conference, our panel of presenters hope to have an engaging and meaningful discussion with those in attendance as well as those participating remotely.

Presenters include APATP Adjunct Mary Dydo, ASCP Adjunct Mike Sovocool, Commission on Cancer Adjunct Erika Paulson, MarComm Committee Chair Charlene Gettings, and members of the Board of Trustees.

You will be invited to pre-submit questions before the presentation, as well as submit additional questions during the live Town Hall meeting.

Mark your calendar now for Monday, September 24, at 3:45pm CDT.  Details on how to reserve your spot will follow closer to the meeting date.  Note: a replay will be available to those unable to attend.
