Greetings 2016 Student Delegates,
As the public relations chair of the newly-formed AAPA Student Committee, I would like to congratulate you all for being selected to participate in the 2016 AAPA Fall Continuing Education Conference! One of the opportunities available to student delegates is to act as program representatives for your respective institutions as part of the AAPA Student Committee. As second year student representatives from your program, you will have the opportunity to choose to be a liaison between our committee and your fellow classmates.
Interested program representatives will be responsible for the following:
- Encouraging AAPA student membership, remember to mention this is free!
- Keeping your classmates and the first year students updated about upcoming conferences, events, and networking, as well as scholarship opportunities
- Encouraging social media participation, focusing on educational questions/concerns and events, as well as encouraging the use of the AAPA website to set-up personal profiles, making use of the AAPA job postings, and even participating in forum posts
- Gathering the questions and concerns your fellow students present to you and voicing them to our committee in an effort to work on providing answers and solutions
- Actively participating in electing future committee representatives and chairs
This is a fantastic means to get involved in the AAPA and to act as an advocate for your fellow students and future students in our profession. If interested, we are asking for a one-year commitment which will tentatively begin August 1, and will require a time commitment of roughly two hours per month.
There are so many resources available to us as student members, and our committee is focusing on making certain that students are aware of and are making use of these resources. We ask that all interested students please send the best email address and phone number to contact you, as well as any questions you may have regarding the position, to our committee email.
